With her gentle, intuitive wisdom and deep knowledge and experience, Kimberley loves to support yoga teachers to build their knowledge and confidence as they share the medicine that yoga can provide and the science behind how to lead a yogic lifestyle.
Kimberley Utama is a certified and registered ERYT 500HR yoga teacher. She has studied Vinyasa Flow yoga with Les Levanthal, Janet Stone, Radiantly Alive, and many more, teaching powerful breath led vinyasa practices, nourishing restorative yoga, meditation, pranayama, trauma informed yoga and reiki. She works regularly as a master teacher at 200hour and 300hour yoga teacher trainings in Bali for various studios.
Kimberley holds a Diploma in Counselling and incorporates these skills to mentoring YTT students and yoga teacher graduates.
“I lead regular weekly classes, workshops, work as a Lead Teacher at various YTT programs all year around, and I offer mentorship programs online for new teachers. I teach locally in Bali, am married to a wonderful supportive man, and I have the privilege to be a Mom to three amazing boys. My dad is Balinese, my mum is Australian, and having grown up in countryside Australia I still always had a strong connection to my Bali roots. Sunshine, coconuts, fresh organic food, jungle greenery and a culture so steeped in spirituality and gratitude, it’s hard to not fall in love with this island - and that is why for more than a decade now Bali has been the home to me and my family.
What I love about Yoga but in essence it’s the change it brings, it’s the transformation both subtle and big. It’s the deeper connection to self and others and it’s the healing that happens without consciously trying. Yoga is way more than just the asana, it’s a way of living and being in the world”
As a yoga educator, Kimberley specialises in educating on the science of yoga, complex sequencing and teaching methodology, as well as the more subtle and human-centric skills of teaching, including hands on adjustments, trauma informed, communication, resources, boundaries and presence. She is dedicated to work on educational programs that elevate the standards of yoga education and increase inclusivity and equality in the yoga space.
By nature a caretaking soul, Kimberley combines her studies in counseling, her roots to the spiritual way of living in Bali, to the core understanding of the science of yoga, and she loves to guide her students and mentees with reverence for the roots of yoga as a wisdom tradition and connecting it to the divine nature of our beings.
